Professional experience 

Mr Van Gein is a leader with more than 25 years of experience within international, culturally diverse organisations with a focus on IT, supply chain and business transformations, mainly within SAP-centric environments. Throughout his career, he has taken a “classical” growth curve in leading project teams and departments and project teams increasing team sizes and responsibilities both within the line and project organisations.

Line management

(10 up to 150 FTE)

Since 2001, Mr. Van Gein has been managing, building, restructuring departments in various sizes, varying from internal teams of 10 up to 150 FTE, with major onshore/offshore components with up to additional 250 FTE. Next to his focus on end-to-end supply chain processes, he built teams with infrastructural and architectural components, allowing him to cover the full IT-department range.
His communication skills with main business stakeholders and experience make him a person that is able to cover a wide spectrum of line management tasks, e.g. portfolio management, resource attraction and retention, ADM, vendor management, etc.

Business and IT strategy development 

Mr. Van Gein has created (and has been part of the creation of) IT strategies and business alignment models. His broad overview, sense for priority and ability to structure, ensure sustainable collaboration models to enable successful conversion.

Implement & manage onshore/offshore models

(50 up to 500+ FTE)

To cover the increasing demands and shortage in internal resources, Mr. Van Gein has implemented multiple offshore models with onshore components, covering both IT processes (operational & project requirements) and BPO (business process outsourcing).

Change management:

leading transformation & restructuring programs

Over the last 15 years, Mr. Van Gein is fulfilling major roles with company-wide business and IT transformation programs. His analytical and communication skills, combined with the ability to find sustainable solutions, ensure the avoidance of lazy compromises. Not only is he able to cover IT aspects, but is also delivering in business process reshaping, change management and overall setup of the transformations.

Project / programm management

(10 to up 500+ FTE)

In his career, Mr. Van Gein has been fulfilling numerous projects. These projects varied from e.g. replacing a customs solutions to leading the build and implementation of the world’s largest retail transformation (at that time) with focus on SAP S/4 HANA suite implementation, managing 500+ FTE (ALDI South). His structuring and QM/QC skills and strength to choose the adequate level of detail, allows him to efficiently run projects, while keeping the business case, time and scope in mind.

Coaching / Mentoring

With his experience and personality, Mr. Van Gein has increasingly conducted coaching sessions. The coachees came both from the IT line organisation, but also the various business departments. His interest in behaviour, empathic attitude and analytical skills make Mr. Van Gein a systematic coach, who is assessing the situation to allow for providing direction to the coachee.
